New LIFE!

One of the things we desire to do through Suubi is to share the Gospel of Jesus. After all... it is ALL about Him!

As we were building the children homes, God put it on our hearts to build a church on the property. So... we did.

This past Sunday was our first Suubi Community Church service. It was a FULL house! There was praise and worship... the preaching of the Word... and GLORY to God!!! 26 people confessed Jesus as Savior!

This news was made even sweeter by the news of our friend and neighbor, Nathan, accepting Jesus as his Savior! Oh! how wonderful! My heart is FULL of joy at the news!

Thank you for praying for Nathan with us! PLEASE continue to pray for him as he walks in new life... pray that he will have a greater understanding of who Jesus is and that he would follow Him faithfully all the days of his life!

Nathan is a leader in this community... pray that others will be drawn to Jesus through his testimony. Also, please pray that Suubi will be faithful in discipling the new believers! Pray that Jesus is made known through Suubi and that even MORE will be brought into the kingdom... pray that we are faithful to His call... and that He will be glorified in everything that we do!

He is the Giver of new life... and He is WORTHY to be praised!

A New Beginning

What an exciting moment!

We welcomed ten children into Suubi home this week! Although I was not physically present for the arrival of our first 10 children, through pictures, texts, and emails I am certain it was a glorious moment!

This was the moment I had been waiting for... the moment the dream God put on my heart became tangible and real. When we finally start making a real difference in the lives of orphans! I am so blessed that God has allowed me to be a part of His good plan for these children! The lives of these children are forever changed. The are filled with hope... and they are excited about their future!

Please join us in praying for these precious children as they embark on their new beginning!

We sing praise to our God... for He is faithful!

Love Your Neighbor

This is our SUUBI neighbor... Nathan.

I call him by his African name... Mukiibi.

From the very beginning of this project he has helped us in one way or another.

He has always been willing to lend a hand and work hard...

even before we started giving him

a small amount of money.

He simply loves SUUBI.

And I have grown to love him.

Nathan is not a believer...

and that weighs on my heart.

My prayer is that he will come to know Jesus as Savior... soon.

Nathan and I do not communicate very well... yet!

He is determined to learn some english

and I am working on my luganda...

and some day we will have great conversations.

For now... we just laugh a lot!

We took the opportunity to serve Nathan and his family...

by purchasing some lumber and metal sheets

so that he could put a roof on his house.

"Sharing the love of Jesus in a practical way"!

His family had been without a roof for quite some time.

He was very happy with the gift!

So happy... and blessed... that when he finished the work

he wrote this message on the front of his house...

"In God... All things are possible".

Can I get an AMEN?!!

Friends, never under estimate the power

of loving your neighbor.

"This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else." 2 Cor 9:12-13
